Coming to fruition in 2024 through a background in cabinet making and theatre set construction, it has been a slow development of ideas using traditional and modern techniques to combine natural materials that form bold, minimal pieces. Living and working on the land of the Wurundjeri peoples (Melbourne, Australia) from my home workshop and studio, I draw from personal and sentimental histories to craft nostalgic designs from jarrah to create intimate characters for the home. My work aims to be relatable through subtle references of the natural world and handcraft that plays on classical furniture archetypes.

Jarrah (djarraly, eucalyptus marginata) is endemic to the south west corner of Australia. Known for its strength, durability and rich hues, it has been purposeful for shelters, tools, construction and furniture to the Noongar people and newer populations throughout centuries. Due to it being a slow growth tree, there are strict regulations in place to keep it sustainable… jarrah is exclusively sourced from regrowth forests whilst logging any native trees is illegal.
